Italy dominates the exhibitor side — Marche and Veneto are where most Italian footwear actually gets made — but Brazil shows up in force (they export more shoes than almost anyone), and there's real presence from Portugal, Turkey, India, China. For buyers it's genuinely one of the few places where you can cover a season's worth of product in four days without getting on multiple planes. September also means MIPEL at the same complex — leather goods, bags, accessories, running simultaneously. If you're sourcing across categories, one trip covers both. The entrance and shuttle infrastructure is shared; you just need to know which pavilions you're going to. Fourteen pavilions, spread across the site. Getting to Fiera Milano from Milan Airports

Three airports: Malpensa (MXP) for long-haul and main international routes, Linate (LIN) for European connections, Bergamo (BGY) for budget carriers. Each gets you a different journey to Fiera Rho.

From Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP)

Malpensa is 35 km northwest of the Fiera complex — the most direct route from any of the three airports, which is convenient. By private transfer, count on 30–45 minutes depending on when you land. Early morning, close to 30. During MICAM week when exhibition trucks and attendee shuttles share the road, budget a bit more.

Public transport is two connections: Malpensa Express to Milano Cadorna (52 minutes), then M1 metro west to Rho Fiera (25 minutes, plus platform wait). Call it 90 minutes door-to-door on a good run. Fine if you're travelling light and not in a hurry. The Malpensa Express costs around €13 one-way; metro is €2 extra.

If you're arriving with samples, display materials, or more than a carry-on, just book a transfer. The Cadorna-to-Rho metro leg with a wheeled case is tedious at the best of times; during fair week it's worse.

From Milan Linate Airport (LIN)

Linate handles most of the European routes — Amsterdam, London City, Paris CDG, Madrid, a lot of the short-haul connections fair visitors use. It's 25 km from Fiera Rho, but you're crossing the city, not going around it. Expect 30–45 minutes by private transfer depending on morning rush hour.

Public transit from Linate: the new M4 metro line gets you to the city centre (Duomo) in about 12 minutes, then M1 west to Rho Fiera is another 25–30. So roughly 50–60 minutes, plus platform waits and luggage. If you're also spending time in the city — dinners, showrooms, meetings — Linate's central position makes getting around easier once you're there. For a direct connection to the fairground on arrival, a transfer is cleaner.

From Bergamo Orio al Serio Airport (BGY)

Bergamo is heavily used by Ryanair and Wizz Air, so there are a lot of MICAM visitors landing here. It's 60 km east of Fiera Rho — mostly motorway (A4), 50–65 minutes in normal conditions. Predictable route.

Shuttle buses from BGY go to Stazione Centrale, not to Fiera Rho — you'd still need the M1 metro from Centrale, adding 30–40 minutes and the luggage hassle. During fair week, the shuttles run late due to high volumes.
