Minivan Taxi Milan

Four people. Three big suitcases each. One flight into Malpensa at 11pm. This is the situation where you stop looking at taxi apps and start looking for a minivan.

The math is simple enough: two standard taxis from MXP to Milan will run you €180–200 combined, your group gets split up, and someone always ends up waiting at baggage claim alone. A minivan costs less total, fits everyone plus the luggage, and your driver is there with a sign when you walk out.

We run Mercedes V-Class vans — 5-seat and 8-seat configurations, long wheelbase on both. The 8-seater has room for full-size suitcases for all passengers; the 5-seater is better when you've got fewer people but more bags (ski season, for example).

Minivan transfer prices from Milan airports

Prices are per vehicle, not per person — which is the whole point for groups:

  • Milan Linate (LIN) → city center: from €90 (20-30 min drive)
  • Milan Malpensa (MXP) → city center: from €155 (45-65 min depending on traffic)
  • Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) → Milan: from €160 (60-75 min)

To compare: the Malpensa Express train costs €13 per person each way, plus you still need to get from Cadorna station to your actual hotel — usually another €15-20 taxi. For a group of 5, the private minivan is already cheaper, and you go direct.

When does a minivan make sense vs. a regular taxi?

Four or more people traveling together is usually the cutoff. Under that, a sedan works fine and costs less. At four and above, a minivan is the same price but carries everyone — so you're basically getting extra seats for free.

The bookings we see most often:

  • Families of 4-5 with ski equipment arriving at Malpensa
  • Small work groups coming for trade shows — Salone del Mobile, EICMA, etc.
  • Groups of friends landing at Bergamo on Ryanair
  • Bands and sports teams with gear

What to expect: the actual experience

Your driver is at arrivals with a nameplate. At Malpensa this matters more than people expect — the hall is big, it's busy, and after a 3-hour flight from London you don't want to be hunting for someone. You walk out, see your name, you're done.

Flight tracking is automatic. If your Ryanair flight lands 90 minutes late, your driver already knows. The free waiting window (60 minutes from actual landing) means you have time to get through passport control and collect bags without stress.

Oversized items — ski bags, golf clubs, instrument cases — are fine, but mention them at booking. The boot space has limits and we'd rather tell you upfront than have a problem at the airport.

Questions people actually ask (from forums and travel groups)

Is the minivan transfer cheaper than just booking two regular taxis?

Usually yes. Two taxis from Malpensa to Milan center cost roughly €90–110 each — so €180–220 total. A minivan for 6-8 people runs €155–175. You save money and everyone travels together. The only case where two taxis make more sense is if your group is splitting to different destinations across the city.

We're 8 people with ski bags — will everything actually fit?

Ski bags are long (180-190cm typically) and this is a real question, not a hypothetical. The 8-seat V-Class Long has about 1,030 litres of boot space with all seats up. Ski bags won't lie flat — they load at an angle or partially under rear seats. For 8 people with full ski kits, we'd honestly suggest two vehicles or contacting us to discuss options. We'll give you a straight answer rather than "yes it'll be fine" and then figure it out at the airport.

How much does a minivan transfer from Malpensa airport cost?

From €155 for up to 8 passengers to Milan city center. Fixed price, no meter, no surge pricing at night or weekends. Destinations further out — Lake Como, Lake Maggiore — cost more based on distance; use the booking form for an exact quote.

Can we make a stop on the way — like picking someone up en route?

Yes, but add it at booking, not during the ride. Drivers have schedules and can't always deviate mid-trip. An intermediate stop changes the route and may affect the price. Tell us in advance and there's no issue.

What if our flight is delayed — do we lose the booking?

No. Flight tracking is automatic; your pickup time updates with actual landing time. The 60-minute free waiting window starts from when you land, not when you were supposed to land. For very long delays (3+ hours) we'll reach out to confirm you still want the transfer rather than leave a driver waiting indefinitely.

Do you have child car seats?

Yes — request at booking with the child's age and weight. Italian law requires proper restraints for children under 12 or under 150cm. We carry ISOFIX-compatible seats. Specify what you need and it'll be in the vehicle.

We're arriving at Bergamo (Ryanair) — is your driver at Orio al Serio or Linate?

Orio al Serio. Bergamo BGY is its own airport, 45km from Milan and completely separate from Malpensa and Linate. Your booking specifies the pickup airport, and that's where the driver will be. If you're not sure which airport you're landing at — it's on your boarding pass or Ryanair booking: MXP = Malpensa, LIN = Linate, BGY = Bergamo.
